Since my husband was away gambling and partying with
strippers, I too took the opportunity for a weekend of
quiet introspection and peaceful meditation.
I woke each day and did yoga for an hour.
Then I wrote positive affirmations in my journal and felt
gay.
I went for a spirit hike through the woods on Saturday.
On Sunday I went to Whole Foods to get gluten free
ingredients for a pear spice birthday cake, and some
all natural hair products for my fro.
I spent TWO challenging hours at Whole Foods. I have
never bought all natural hair products, so this was an
exercise in patience. I found lavender oil, vegetable
glycerin, and silicone free gel, and I plan to put it
all in my hair. I can't wait to look all soul glow.
Then I got hungry and ate some watermelon, a salad,
and about a full pizza's worth of free pizza samples.
Then I bought cake ingredients and went home. At
home, I watched Raging Bull, since I love an
independent film about a hilarious stand up comic.
Then I baked a cake. Then Justin came home and told me
all about the bloated strippers. Then I went to bed.
A wonderfully peaceful day.
The moral of the story is, when your husband is out of
town gambling with strippers, take some time for quiet
introspection, personal grooming, and pear cake
baking. And watch Raging Bull, since it'll make you
cry in fear.
